Formosa: How Did I End Up Here?

It’s been a crazy year for Tiny Pinecone. For so long, I had been asking myself if I wanted to pursue a brick and mortar shop, or maybe just do catering, or possibly events, and what about just a series of pop-ups? All of these different directions and every one of them a valid pursuit.

Finally, I thought about what Tiny Pinecone was born from: a love for a well-crafted life.

Things made by hand are things made with love. I enjoy so much making pastries, creating nice environments and experiences, pairing it all with other lovely hand-crafted things, and especially meeting other like-minded people and sharing a smile.  Instead of forcing a future, I decided to just “go with the flow.” And because the universe shows you what you need, when you need it, I found a wealth of inspiration for creating a Tealicious life in Jhentea. My curiosity about tea has led me to Taiwan, this emerald green island of oolong! For now, I am directing that feeling into this blog, to share all that I may discover along the way.

Jhentea is a family of Taiwanese female tea masters. These strong women have been making oolong teas for 150 years. All natural, hand-plucked, and hand-made. That is a love story for the history books!

I have a lot to learn from them, and am looking forward to the next few months to be spent in their company.

That moss on that rock is gorgeous! (I really love the stuff… One day, I’ll go to New Zealand for the shangri-la of moss!)

Looking forward to getting transported by the musings of the roving pinecone!

Every time I encounter moss, I pet the rocks and am reminded of you.
